SEC Appoints Salem Al Abdooli As Director Of Sharjah Department Of Housing To Enhance Local Governance
The Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) convened on Tuesday, led by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah. During the meeting, Eng. Salem Hamed Al Abdooli was promoted to "Department Director" at the Sharjah Department of Housing (SDH). This decision reflects the council's commitment to enhancing leadership within government departments.
In addition to personnel changes, the SEC approved a new policy concerning traffic violations in Sharjah. Violations recorded by the Sharjah Police General Command will be dismissed if they are over 10 years old. A fee of AED1,000 is required to submit a waiver request, with certain exemptions in place.
Exemptions from the waiver fee include cases where the vehicle owner has passed away or has been out of the country for at least 10 years. Additionally, abandoned vehicles whose owners cannot be contacted are also exempt from this fee.
The council also examined amendments proposed by the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) to a draft law regulating judicial authority in the Emirate. These amendments will be forwarded to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi for final approval and issuance.
The meeting highlighted the growth of Sharjah's aviation sector, attributing it to a supportive environment and diverse facilities. Discussions centred around future opportunities to bolster Sharjah’s standing in this industry, leveraging its logistical and service advantages.
A report on the Sharjah Training Centre for Airport Sciences was reviewed by the council. The centre offers accredited training programmes recognised locally and internationally, focusing on aviation, air transport, and security.
Training Centre Facilities
The centre boasts comprehensive facilities including simulators, training rooms, labs, testing areas, meeting rooms, a conference hall, and classrooms. The report detailed how these facilities have evolved through various phases to achieve official accreditation status.
The SEC's discussions aimed at ensuring that government departments meet strategic objectives effectively. By reviewing performance across sectors and making necessary adjustments, they strive to maintain progress towards these goals.
