SCCI Chairman And Estonian Ambassador Discuss Strengthening Economic Cooperation And Trade Opportunities
Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), has highlighted the need to enhance economic cooperation between Sharjah and Estonia. He sees potential in expanding strategic partnerships, particularly in advanced technology and sustainable agriculture. These sectors align with both regions' developmental goals, offering promising opportunities for trade and investment growth.
The meeting took place at the SCCI headquarters, where Al Owais met with Maria Belovas, Estonia's Ambassador to the UAE. The gathering included Raghda Hamad Omran Taryam, an SCCI Board Member, Dr. Fatima Khalifa Al Muqarrab, Director of International Relations at SCCI, and other officials from both sides.

Al Owais emphasised the potential for strong bilateral cooperation between Sharjah and Estonia in technology and agriculture. Both countries are interested in advancing digital transformation and fostering innovation through advanced technologies. They aim to support strategic food security goals by adopting smart agricultural solutions.
He acknowledged the UAE-Estonia Business Council's role in strengthening economic ties. The council provides a platform for business networking and promotes trade and investment collaboration between the two regions.
Maria Belovas invited the Sharjah Chamber to organise an official trade mission to Estonia. This initiative aims to help Sharjah's business community explore Estonia's investment landscape. It will also allow them to identify opportunities in key sectors like digital technology, cybersecurity, and startups.
Al Owais extended an invitation to Belovas to attend the Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show on May 28. This flagship event is organised by Expo Centre Sharjah, offering a platform for showcasing regional talent.
The meeting underscored mutual interests shared by both countries' investment environments. By focusing on digital transformation and sustainable agriculture, they aim to foster innovation that supports strategic goals.
