SCC Discusses Educational Collaboration With Hong Kong University For Enhanced UAE-China Ties

Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC), welcomed a delegation from the Business School of Hong Kong University at the SCC headquarters in Sharjah. The meeting aimed to explore educational resource development and foster cooperation in scientific research and innovative projects. This visit was part of efforts to enhance academic ties between the UAE and China, seeking new opportunities for knowledge exchange.

The delegation was led by Professor Hongbin Cai, Dean of the Business School and Professor of Economics. He presented the school's mission and strategic goals, highlighting their aim to be a leading global academic institution influencing business and economics worldwide. He stressed the importance of providing world-class education that nurtures researchers and expands knowledge through innovative research.

Sheikha Ali Al Naqbi, SCC member and Chairperson of the Education, Culture, and Media Affairs Committee, attended the meeting. She emphasised the significance of this visit in opening new horizons for collaboration between both sides. Al Nuaimi underscored the need to strengthen ties with global educational institutions to advance education and scientific research while benefiting from shared expertise.

Sachin Tipnis, Senior Executive Director of Graduate Educational Programmes, discussed the academic programmes offered by the school. He explained how these programmes benefit students by equipping them with essential skills. Alice Hui, Head of Relations and Alumni Development, expressed her desire to strengthen ties with similar institutions, noting that partnerships contribute significantly to educational development.

Dr. Adam Yan, Head of Strategic Partnerships, focused on collaboration in innovative projects. He stressed exploring new fields that promote knowledge exchange as crucial for mutual growth. Adrian Chan, Executive Director of Executive Education, highlighted the need for innovative educational programmes that meet market demands and help develop necessary skills.

The meeting included discussions on enhancing cooperation in exchanging educational resources. Several ideas were explored that could open a new chapter of collaboration between China and the UAE. Opportunities to strengthen academic and research cooperation were also discussed, reflecting a shared desire to achieve mutual developmental goals.

Al Nuaimi concluded by emphasising ongoing communication's importance in achieving common goals through expertise exchange between both sides. He expressed optimism about opening new avenues for fruitful cooperation that will benefit students and communities in both countries.
