Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and Chairman of Sandooq Al Watan, announced the launch of the third summer programmes. These events, starting tomorrow and continuing until July 31, aim to engage 50,000 students from schools and universities across the UAE.

The programmes will be held at 54 locations, including government and private schools, as well as cultural and youth centres. Sheikh Nahyan highlighted that these initiatives reflect the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. The focus is on fostering a robust national identity among young people, which serves as both a protective shield and a driving force for advancement.

Sheikh Nahyan emphasised the importance of nurturing future generations who are proud of their national identity and Arabic language. He stated that these programmes aim to instil values of belonging and loyalty through innovative methods. The activities are designed to deliver a noble message while engaging participants in meaningful ways.

This year’s programme will feature hundreds of activities spanning entertainment, sports, arts, and knowledge-based pursuits. Notably, over 30 theatrical performances will be showcased by talented UAE artists. Additionally, there will be events focused on Arabic calligraphy, heritage storytelling, creative games, and daily competitions with instant prizes.

Yasser Al Gargawi, Director General of Sandooq Al Watan, explained that the programmes cater to students aged 8–16. They are divided into three main categories based on age groups: Group 1 (ages 8–10) focuses on physical activities and short stories; Group 2 (ages 11–13) emphasises interactive discussions and simple analysis; Group 3 (ages 14–16) concentrates on small projects and volunteer initiatives.

The initiative aims to provide rich content through diverse activities that appeal to different interests. This approach ensures that all participants find something engaging and educational during their involvement in the summer programmes.

The summer programmes not only offer an opportunity for personal growth but also aim to strengthen cultural ties among young Emiratis. By participating in these activities, students can develop a deeper understanding of their heritage while building skills that contribute to their future success.

As these initiatives unfold across various venues in the UAE, they promise to leave a lasting impact on participants by enhancing their sense of identity and community engagement.
