Saudi Arabia: Italy's Saipem Lands $1 Billion In Offshore Contracts By Aramco
Italian company Saipem announced on Tuesday that it has secured two offshore contracts in Saudi Arabia. These contracts fall under its existing Long-Term Agreement with Aramco and are valued at approximately $1 billion.
The first contract involves extensive work in the Marjan and gas field. Saipem will handle the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) of three production deck modules (PDMs). Additionally, they will install 33 kilometers of subsea rigid pipelines with diameters of 12 inches and 16 inches, along with 34 kilometers of subsea power cables.

The second contract covers the EPCI of three jackets and five PDMs. It also includes laying 22 kilometers of subsea rigid pipelines with a diameter of 16 inches, 5 kilometers of subsea flexible pipelines, and 35 kilometers of subsea power cables. These infrastructures will be installed in the Zuluf and Safaniyah oil fields.
Saipem will utilise its construction vessels already operating in the region for these offshore projects. This deployment aims to ensure efficient execution and timely completion of the tasks involved.
The fabrication work for these projects will take place at Saipem's Saudi fabrication yard, Saipem Taqa Al-Rushaid Fabricators Co. Ltd. This initiative is part of an effort to enhance local industry capabilities and boost regional development.
