Saif Bin Zayed And Russian Minister Kurenkov Discuss Key Cooperation In Security Matters
H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, recently held discussions in Abu Dhabi with Kurenkov Alexander Vyacheslavovich, the Russian Federation's Minister for Civil Defence, Emergencies, and Disaster Management. The meeting focused on strengthening ties in police and security cooperation between the UAE and Russia.
During their talks, both leaders signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance collaboration in civil defence, disaster prevention, and civil protection. This agreement aims to deepen the partnership between the UAE Ministry of Interior and its Russian counterpart.
The meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials from both countries. Notable attendees included Mohammed Ahmed Sultan Al Jaber, UAE Ambassador to Russia; Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior; and Lt. General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police.
The Russian delegation was given an overview of the UAE Ministry of Interior’s advanced practices in police work, security measures, disaster prevention strategies, and civil protection initiatives. They were also introduced to innovative technologies employed by the Ministry to ensure public safety.
The delegation had the opportunity to tour various facilities within the Ministry. These included visits to the central operations room, the Civil Defence Academy, and the Safe City project. Such tours provided insights into how these departments function efficiently.
Other prominent figures present at the meeting were Major General Pilot Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police; Major General Hamdan Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Commander of the National Guard; and Major General Jassim Mohammed Al Marzouqi, Commander-in-Chief of Civil Defence.
This visit underscored both nations' commitment to enhancing bilateral relations through shared knowledge and expertise in critical areas like civil defence and emergency management.
