SAA Launches Innovative Digital Platform To Explore Sharjah's Cultural Heritage In The Metaverse

The Sharjah Archaeology Authority (SAA) has introduced the "Archaeology Centre in the Metaverse," marking a global first in cultural heritage within the Metaverse. This initiative aims to immerse users of all ages in Sharjah’s rich cultural and archaeological history through an engaging blend of education and entertainment.

Users can explore significant archaeological sites in Sharjah, from Khorfakkan and Kalba's rock carvings to simulating excavations at the "Camel Cemetery." The platform also features the restoration of historical coins found in Mleiha, offering insights into preserving cultural discoveries with audio guides available in Arabic and English.

Eisa Yousef, Director-General of SAA, highlighted that launching this project is a crucial part of their strategy to leverage technology for enhancing cultural awareness globally.
