RTA Enhances Emirati Leadership In Innovation And Smart Mobility Through China Visit
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) recently organised a training trip to China for directors and their deputies from various sectors within the RTA. This initiative is part of the "Advanced Leadership" programme, designed to develop national talent in leadership roles through practical experiences and exposure to global models in leadership and innovation.
The visit underscores RTA's dedication to enhancing Emirati skills by investing in human capital. Through specialised training programmes, RTA aims to nurture leaders who can anticipate future challenges and drive corporate transformation effectively. The programme focuses on preparing second and third-tier leaders for future responsibilities.

During the visit, participants explored several companies and centres specialising in smart transport, artificial intelligence, and future technologies. Notable visits included Huawei, Alibaba, SenseTime, and EHang. These visits provided insights into global practices in smart mobility, digital transformation, sustainability, and smart city management.
Athari Mohamed, Executive Director of Human Resources and Development at RTA's Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector, stated that the programme combines theoretical learning with direct field experience. "The Advanced Leadership programme seeks to build national leaders capable of strategic thinking and future foresight," she explained.
Athari further mentioned that the China visit offered an integrated learning environment fostering knowledge exchange with global entities in transport and artificial intelligence. This contributed positively to enhancing RTA’s systems and operations while boosting its corporate competitiveness.
"Investing in national competencies is a cornerstone of RTA’s strategy," Athari concluded. She emphasised that the Advanced Leadership programme aligns with Dubai's vision for leadership and sustainability in the public sector by preparing future leaders according to high global standards.
