ReEarth International Art Prize Invites Young Artists To Address Climate Change Through Creativity

The reEarth International Art Prize is now open for submissions from young artists globally. This initiative invites entries in photography, painting, drawing, digital art, and illustration. It offers a platform for students to engage in the global climate change dialogue through their creative expressions.

Participants have the chance to gain international recognition. Their works will be judged by a panel of esteemed artists and curators from Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Pakistan, the UAE, and the United States. The selected pieces will be showcased in both digital and physical exhibitions in Auckland, New Zealand, and Venice, Italy.

Global Art Prize Encourages Youth Climate Action

The competition encourages artistic exploration of climate change themes such as Life on Earth, Life Under Water, Beyond Humans, and People and Planet Connected. Organised by The Little Art New Zealand with FANN – Sharjah Media Arts for Youth and Children, it aims to inspire creativity linked to environmental awareness.

Sheikha Jawaher bint Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director-General of FANN and SIFF, stated: "We believe that art is a powerful means of bringing about change... We encourage children and youth to seize this opportunity to highlight their environmental artistic visions and contribute to spreading awareness about global climate challenges."

Shoaib Iqbal, co-founder of the reEarth Studio, remarked on the enthusiasm shown by schools and young participants: "We are seeing great interest from schools... We are very happy to empower next generation of artists... put a spotlight on climate change as collective issue of us all."

The Prize is open to individuals aged 4 to 25 across three categories: painting & drawing, photography, and digital art & illustration. Awards include cash prizes, international exhibitions, special jury awards, and e-certificates for all participants.

Teachers are encouraged to introduce this opportunity to students. This fosters both their artistic skills and understanding of environmental issues. The initiative aims not only at recognising talent but also at promoting climate action through creative expression.

Selected artworks will be displayed in Auckland and Venice. This provides young artists with a unique platform to share their views on sustainability with a wider audience.
