Two-Hour Daily Work Reduction For Private Sector During Ramadan: MoHRE
In a significant move aimed at accommodating the observance of the Holy Month of Ramadan, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has declared a reduction in the daily working hours for private sector employees. This adjustment will see employees' workdays shortened by two hours throughout the duration of Ramadan.
This initiative is grounded in the Federal Decree Law No. 33 of 2021 concerning the Regulation of Labour Relations and its subsequent amendments. The MoHRE's decision underscores the government's commitment to fostering a supportive work environment that respects religious practices and enhances work-life balance for its citizens and residents.

Furthermore, the Ministry has provided companies with the flexibility to adopt either remote or flexible working patterns, contingent upon the nature and requirements of their operations. This approach allows businesses to maintain productivity while accommodating the reduced working hours during this sacred period.
The announcement by MoHRE is reflective of the UAE's progressive policies aimed at ensuring a harmonious balance between professional commitments and personal or religious obligations. By allowing for adaptable working arrangements, the Ministry is paving the way for a more inclusive and considerate corporate culture within the Emirates.
As businesses across the private sector adjust to these changes, it is anticipated that this measure will not only support employees in their observance of Ramadan but also contribute to enhancing overall workplace satisfaction and morale during this time.
