Tawazun Council Reports AED 9.77 Billion In Defence Contracts At IDEX And NAVDEX 2025
The Tawazun Council, responsible for acquisitions and contracts for the Ministry of Defense, announced five new agreements worth AED5.8 billion. These deals were signed with both local and international companies during the second day of IDEX and NAVDEX 2025. The total value of contracts over the first two days reached AED9.77 billion, spanning 18 agreements.
During a press conference, Majed Ahmed Al Jaberi, Mohammed Saif Al Zaabi, and Mahra Bilal Al Dhaheri represented Tawazun Council as spokespersons. They provided details about the council’s contracts for the Ministry of Defense at IDEX and NAVDEX 2025. The event was held under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and organised by ADNEC Group in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense and Tawazun Council.

Mahra Bilal Al Dhaheri revealed that three local contracts on the second day totaled AED5.57 billion. A significant deal was made with Calidus Aerospace to procure the HEDA Missile System (Phase 1) for AED3.76 billion. Another agreement involved International Golden Group for ammunition procurement worth AED492 million, while DTEC Industries Limited secured a contract to supply 50-meter marine traffic boats valued at AED1.38 billion.
Mohammed Saif Al Zaabi shared that two international contracts were signed on the same day, amounting to AED213 million. One agreement was with France's MBDA to provide spare parts, maintenance, repairs, and technical support for naval equipment at a cost of AED32 million. Additionally, Augusta Westland Aviation Services from Italy agreed to offer technical support and aircraft spare parts worth AED181 million.

Majed Ahmed Al Jaberi emphasised Tawazun Council’s dedication to fostering cooperation between prominent local and global defence firms. He noted that IDEX and NAVDEX 2025 are crucial platforms for displaying cutting-edge technologies and innovations in defence. Al Jaberi also highlighted that these contracts are vital in supporting national strategies aimed at enhancing defence capabilities and expanding local manufacturing bases.
