Ports, Customs And Free Zone Corporation Showcases Digital Transformation At GITEX Global 2025

The Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) is set to participate in GITEX Global 2025 from 13th to 17th October at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This involvement underscores its commitment to enhancing Dubai's digital government framework and promoting smart transformation and AI applications. PCFC aims to showcase a variety of digital projects that align with Dubai's digital transformation strategy and the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33).

Dr Mohammed Jumaa Rahma, Executive Director of Technology and Digital Transformation at PCFC, emphasised the importance of innovation and global engagement at the event. "GITEX Global, which attracts more than 200,000 participants and 6,500 companies from around 180 countries, provides a vital platform to showcase digital achievements and forge strategic partnerships in fields such as smart cities, AI, and cybersecurity," he stated.

PCFC Highlights Digital Innovation at GITEX 2025

PCFC's interactive pavilion will highlight its role in developing a smart customs and logistics ecosystem that supports business sustainability and economic diversification. Among the key projects featured will be Marsa, a unified digital platform for managing marine berths across Dubai. Additionally, an advanced drone initiative will support the operations of the Dubai Ports Authority.

Rashid Al Sharid, Executive Director of the Administration and Finance Division at Dubai Customs, noted that this year's participation will focus on showcasing the digital transformation of customs services. He explained how smart technologies can improve operational efficiency and customer experience. New initiatives like the Radiation Prevention and Monitoring System will be unveiled during the exhibition.

PCFC will also present Digital Zero Four, the UAE’s first national company specialising in smart business transformation and AI-based solutions. This initiative offers new tools for imaging, monitoring, and control within a connected digital infrastructure. The Corporation's participation reaffirms Dubai’s leadership in smart governance and technological innovation.

Dubai Customs plans to introduce several new initiatives under the Digital Dubai umbrella within the Dubai Government Pavilion. These include Sawem app – a next-generation digital auction platform – and Al Munasiq, an AI-powered cargo classification system. These innovations aim to enhance operational efficiency further.

The Corporation continues to set new standards for efficiency by integrating AI, automation, and advanced digital infrastructure across trade, logistics, and customs operations. This approach reinforces Dubai's position as a future-ready global hub. By focusing on these areas, PCFC aims to maintain its central role in supporting business sustainability.
