International Energy Leadership Programme Participants Explore Best Practices In UAE’s Energy Sector

The Ministry of Cabinet Affairs' Government Experience Exchange Office organised visits and workshops for the "International Energy Leadership Programme." This initiative aimed to familiarise participants with the UAE's best practices in energy. The programme was designed to equip leaders with essential skills and knowledge for managing critical energy sectors effectively.

Abdulla Nasser Lootah, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Experience Exchange, emphasised the UAE's leadership in energy. He noted that the country continues to achieve significant advancements in resource management. Lootah stated, "The International Energy Leadership Program represents a distinguished platform to gain insights into strategies and future directions in the sector, in addition to enriching participants’ expertise by exploring the UAE’s unique model in government modernization and development."

Exploring UAE’s Energy Practices in Leadership Programme

The "International Energy Leadership Programme" aims to enhance energy leaders' capabilities by developing leadership skills and sharing success stories. It focuses on UAE's pioneering models in energy, work practices, and government modernisation. The programme included knowledge visits, workshops, and interviews with 30 Emirati experts.

The programme hosted 30 participants from 19 countries, including Montenegro, Mongolia, Maldives, Georgia, Seychelles, Indonesia, Senegal, Kenya, Morocco, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Ethiopia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Colombia, Brazil, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Vietnam, and Costa Rica. These participants were energy leaders and executives seeking specialised skills.

The initiative covered several pillars: energy sector strategies and government modernisation in the UAE. It also focused on integration among stakeholders within the energy sector. Participants visited entities like the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure.

Other notable visits included the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR), Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Masdar, Mubadala Energy, Empower Dubai, and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). These visits provided insights into successful practices within these organisations.

UAE's Global Cooperation Efforts

The UAE Government launched the Government Experience Exchange Programme to share best practices with friendly nations. Since its inception in 2018, it has formed partnerships worldwide to build institutional capacities through experience exchange in strategic planning and government excellence.

This programme aims to improve government performance by implementing strategic initiatives and developing institutional capabilities. It serves as a platform for transferring expertise across various fields to enhance cooperation in government modernisation.

Lootah highlighted experience exchange among governments as crucial for inspiring successful practices. He believes this contributes significantly to improving efficiency and shaping prosperous futures for communities globally.
