Over 260 Chinese Companies Set To Showcase Innovations At WETEX 2025 In Dubai

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has revealed that over 260 Chinese exhibitors will feature in the Water, Energy and Environment Technology Exhibition (WETEX). They will occupy a pavilion covering more than 2,800 square metres. The 27th WETEX edition, organised by DEWA, is set to occur at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 30 September to 2 October 2025. This event marks the largest Chinese involvement in its history.

David Wang, Chairman of MIE Group, which organises the Chinese pavilion at WETEX, highlighted the exhibition's significance for Chinese businesses. "For Chinese enterprises, WETEX is more than just a trade show – it's a strategic entry point into the MENA market. WETEX helps our exhibitors connect with the right partners, explore new opportunities and support the UAE’s bold vision for a sustainable future. Our role at WETEX 2025 is to empower innovation, strengthen trade and turn shared sustainability goals into real success stories."

Chinese Companies to Participate in WETEX 2025

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA and Founder and Chairman of WETEX, expressed his appreciation for the extensive participation of Chinese firms in WETEX 2025. He noted that the UAE and China have strong strategic ties rooted in economic cooperation across various sectors like investment, energy, and technology. In 2024, bilateral trade between these nations reached US$102 billion, marking a 7% increase from the previous year.

Al Tayer also mentioned DEWA's strategic alliances with leading Chinese clean energy companies. He emphasised that this significant participation aligns with efforts to position WETEX as a premier global platform showcasing innovations in clean energy, water, and sustainability sectors. The exhibition facilitates communication and expertise exchange among global exhibitors.

The exhibition plays a crucial role in forming partnerships that contribute to achieving several key strategies: the UAE Net Zero Strategy 2050, Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, and Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050. These initiatives aim to enhance sustainability efforts within the region.

Wang further explained that WETEX serves as more than just an exhibition for Chinese enterprises; it acts as a gateway into the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) market. It provides opportunities for exhibitors to connect with suitable partners while supporting the UAE's ambitious vision for sustainability.

This year's unprecedented level of participation by Chinese companies underscores their commitment to fostering innovation and strengthening trade ties within this vital sector. The event promises to be an influential platform for turning shared sustainability objectives into tangible achievements.
