Sharjah Private Education Authority Launches Nursery Improvement Journey To Enhance Early Childhood Education
The Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) has introduced the "Nursery Improvement Journey" under the ITQAN programme. This initiative, in collaboration with a specialised early childhood education organisation, seeks to enhance educational and care services in Sharjah's nurseries. It aims to upgrade the learning environment and workforce capabilities, ensuring quality early childhood education in the emirate.
Ali Al Hosani, Director of SPEA, highlighted the ITQAN programme's significance in elevating education quality across Sharjah. Initially launched for private schools, it has now expanded to nurseries to address developmental needs. He stated that this initiative aligns with H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi's vision for sustainable education.

As part of its initial phase, SPEA has commenced improvement review visits to 141 public and private nurseries. These visits adhere to the Sharjah Nursery Improvement Framework, developed alongside the Sharjah Education Academy. The framework sets benchmarks for enhancing teaching methods, learning spaces, and staff development.
The project supports nursery staff by improving their skills to prepare for future educational stages. It also focuses on appointing specialists who collaborate with nursery staff and parents to meet evolving educational needs. This cooperation is crucial in creating a stimulating and safe environment for children.
The Authority has organised "Professional Development Week" for nursery managers and early childhood educators. This event offers sessions on best practices in early childhood education, aiming to enhance the learning experience for young children.
The Nursery Improvement Journey also aims to support children's social, emotional, linguistic, and motor skills development. Encouraging parental involvement at home is a key component of this initiative, contributing to a brighter future for society.
Al Hosani expressed gratitude towards nursery administrations and parents for their support, acknowledging their role in the project's success. He emphasised that their involvement is vital in achieving the desired outcomes of this initiative.
