NMO And UAE Cybersecurity Council Collaborate To Strengthen Media Awareness And Digital Protection
The National Media Office (NMO) and the UAE Cybersecurity Council have entered into a strategic partnership to align media capabilities with cybersecurity needs. This collaboration aims to enhance digital security and support national initiatives in the face of increasing cyber threats. The agreement was formalised at the BRIDGE Summit 2025 by Dr. Mohamed Hamad Al Kuwaiti and Dr. Jamal Mohammed Al Kaabi, alongside other officials.
Dr. Al Kuwaiti highlighted that this agreement is in line with the UAE leadership's vision to create an advanced ecosystem combining media and technology to tackle cyber risks effectively. He noted that unified efforts among relevant entities boost digital resilience and community awareness. He stated, "The agreement reflects the UAE’s commitment to building a safe and trustworthy digital environment through strengthened public awareness and integrated efforts between cybersecurity and media sectors."

The agreement focuses on exchanging specialised cybersecurity content, supporting digital protection initiatives, and ensuring adherence to UAE’s cybersecurity policies. It also includes training national talent to prepare them for evolving cyber challenges. By sharing cyber threat indicators, both parties aim to produce media content that raises public awareness while developing technological systems linked to cybersecurity operations centres.
Dr. Al Kaabi described the partnership as crucial for creating a cohesive digital ecosystem that combines media power with advanced cyber protection. He explained that this collaboration reflects an understanding of the fast-evolving digital landscape globally, emphasising the UAE's dedication to securing digital transformation credibility at regional and international levels.
The agreement enhances coordination in planning cross-sector cyber drills, organising workshops, conferences, training programmes, and providing media support during information security incidents. Dr. Al Kuwaiti mentioned that this cooperation plays a central role in supporting secure digital transformation, empowering national talent, and reinforcing UAE institutions' ability to respond to digital challenges according to global best practices.
Dr. Al Kaabi stressed the importance of integrating media roles with cybersecurity efforts as information spreads rapidly today, significantly impacting crisis management and sustainable growth. He added that safeguarding the national digital space requires institutional integration between media content creation and critical infrastructure protection.
Media Innovation Meets Cyber Resilience
This strategic agreement marks a significant step toward advancing specialised national content while enhancing government institutions' capacity to address digital threats comprehensively through monitoring, awareness, coordination, and response strategies. Dr. Al Kaabi noted that linking these milestones highlights how future media depends on a secure digital environment protecting content while maintaining public trust.
The collaboration underscores the need for a unified media-technological ecosystem using national platforms for secure digital transformation while reinforcing UAE’s digital sovereignty. This approach reshapes individuals' roles from potential targets into informed defenders through effective messaging.
