Muslim Council Of Elders Reviews Uzbekistan's Role In Upcoming Emerging Peacemakers Forum
The Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders, Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam, recently met with Saida Shavkat Mirziyoyeva in Tashkent. She is the First Assistant to the President of Uzbekistan. They discussed enhancing cooperation to revive the intellectual heritage of Muslim scholars and highlight their contributions across various knowledge fields. The aim is to reintroduce their legacy and scientific contributions to current and future generations.
During this meeting, Judge Abdelsalam expressed gratitude for Uzbekistan's efforts in preserving Islamic heritage. This is especially true in historically significant cities like Bukhara and Samarkand. He acknowledged the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in these initiatives. The Secretary-General also confirmed support for the Center for Islamic Civilization, which will open in Uzbekistan later this year under Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb's chairmanship.

The upcoming Center for Islamic Civilization is expected to become a key symbol of Islamic culture in Central Asia. It will serve as a beacon for promoting Islamic civilization. The Secretary-General praised Saida Mirziyoyeva's role in supporting youth initiatives and empowering women in Uzbekistan. Saida Mirziyoyeva welcomed the Muslim Council of Elders' participation in an international conference held in Samarkand titled "Maturidism: A Doctrine of Tolerance, Moderation, and Knowledge." She appreciated the Council’s ongoing interest in Uzbekistan, which was strengthened by appointing Sheikh Nuriddin Kholiknazar as a member of the Council.
Mirziyoyeva highlighted the strong ties between Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates. She noted that future cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Muslim Council of Elders would increase through various initiatives promoting dialogue, tolerance, coexistence, and peace.
The meeting concluded with discussions on hosting the next Emerging Peacemakers Forum edition in Uzbekistan. This initiative by the Muslim Council of Elders aims to promote peace and dialogue globally. The forum could coincide with preparations for inaugurating the Center for Islamic Civilization.
