Muslim Council Of Elders And Malaysian Prime Minister Discuss Promoting Dialogue And Tolerance Among Cultures
The Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders, Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam, recently engaged in discussions with Malaysia's Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim. Their conversation focused on enhancing collaboration in areas of shared interest. They particularly aimed to promote tolerance, coexistence, and fraternity among various religions and cultures while addressing challenges faced by the Muslim world.
Judge Abdelsalam emphasised the significant role of the Muslim Council of Elders in encouraging dialogue both between different religions and within the Islamic community. Dr. Al-Tayeb is the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders. During his visit in July, he delivered a keynote speech at the Malaysian Scholars and Youth Council's opening event.
The Prime Minister expressed his desire to meet Dr. Al-Tayeb again soon to discuss key challenges facing Muslims worldwide. He praised the Muslim Council of Elders for its dedication to strengthening cooperation with Malaysia in support of global Muslims and promoting peaceful coexistence.
