MoHESR Enhances Proactive Monitoring System For Education Quality Assurance In The UAE
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) has been actively monitoring digital advertisements in the UAE. Between June and early September 2025, they reviewed over 2,500 ads from 118 educational and training institutions. This initiative is part of their ongoing efforts to ensure quality education and protect students from misleading promotional practices.
Taif Mohamed Alamiri, Acting Assistant Under-Secretary for the Higher Education Regulation and Governance Sector, emphasised that enhancing the Ministry's regulatory framework is crucial. He stated, "We ensure proactive and continuous monitoring through digital tools, feedback from students, parents and stakeholders, as well as field visits to educational institutions. These efforts strengthen public trust in the academic and professional standards of UAE-based higher educational institutions."

Alamiri highlighted that MoHESR's oversight extends beyond technical checks. It includes a collaborative framework involving a specialised department within MoHESR, federal and local regulatory bodies, and educational institutions. This comprehensive approach aims to safeguard students from irresponsible practices while affirming education as a core national value in the UAE's journey towards a knowledge-based economy.
The Ministry reported that most promotional materials adhered to established standards. However, their proactive measures prevented 20 non-compliant ads from being published. Additionally, MoHESR conducted 67 inspections from early 2025 to September to evaluate programme quality and ensure compliance with regulations.
MoHESR advises students and parents to verify that educational institutions are licensed and their programmes accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) before enrolling. Verification can be done via the Ministry’s website or by contacting the Customer Happiness Centre at 800511.
The Ministry reiterated its commitment to protecting students and maintaining high educational standards as top priorities. Their efforts aim to foster trust in the academic environment within UAE-based higher education institutions.
