Mohammed Bin Rashid And Kuwait’s Prime Minister Discuss Growing Bilateral Relations At World Governments Summit
During the World Governments Summit (WGS), His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, met with Kuwait’s Prime Minister, His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Al Abdullah Al Ahmad Al Sabah. The summit began on Tuesday under the theme ‘Shaping Future Governments.’ The meeting was also attended by H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai.
The WGS 2025 is a significant event that will run until 13 February. It brings together over 30 heads of state and government, more than 80 international and regional organisations, and 140 government delegations. The agenda includes 21 global forums focusing on future trends and transformations, with over 200 interactive sessions featuring more than 300 prominent speakers.
Sheikh Mohammed welcomed Kuwait’s Prime Minister, who delivered a keynote speech on the summit's first day. They discussed the strong bilateral ties between the UAE and Kuwait and highlighted ongoing cooperation across various sectors. This collaboration aims to drive comprehensive developmental progress for the region's people.
Sheikh Mohammed emphasised the importance of fostering partnerships among Arab governments in different sectors. He noted that such collaborations are crucial for achieving comprehensive development in the region. He also expressed his sincere wishes for continued progress, growth, and prosperity for Kuwait's leadership and people.
The summit plays a critical role in enhancing global cooperation for sustainable growth across all government sectors. It aims to stimulate national economies and improve societal well-being. Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the summit's contribution to bringing nations closer together and achieving significant successes over the years.
Sheikh Ahmad praised the WGS for its role in strengthening regional cooperation. He noted that it creates new opportunities for governments to enhance their performance and improve public services. These efforts contribute to advancing comprehensive and sustainable development for all nations in the region.

The meeting included several notable attendees: H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs; Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; Talal Belhoul Al Falasi, President of Dubai's State Security Department; and Sultan bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World.
The summit will publish 30 strategic reports in collaboration with international knowledge partners. It will also feature over 30 ministerial meetings and roundtables attended by more than 400 ministers. These gatherings aim to explore major future trends and transformations affecting global governance.
This year's WGS underscores its commitment to shaping future governments through enhanced cooperation among nations. By focusing on modernising governance structures, it seeks to ensure sustainable development across various sectors worldwide.
