Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum And Georgian Prime Minister Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations At WGS 2025
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, recently met with Irakli Kobakhidze, the Prime Minister of Georgia. This meeting occurred during the World Governments Summit (WGS) 2025. The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation and expanding strategic partnerships between the UAE and Georgia.
The meeting was attended by several notable figures, including H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai; and H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council. Other attendees included Mohammad Al Gergawi, Reem Al Hashimy, and Mohamed Alabbar.
Sheikh Mohammed and Kobakhidze explored ways to advance economic, trade, and investment relations between their countries. They also reviewed key topics on the WGS agenda. The summit brings together global leaders to foster international collaboration in addressing shared challenges.
Sheikh Mohammed welcomed the Georgian delegation warmly. He stressed the UAE's dedication to enhancing cooperation with Georgia across various sectors to support mutual goals. He praised Georgia's involvement in the WGS as a significant platform for exchanging expertise and discussing future strategies.
Kobakhidze acknowledged the strong relationship between Georgia and the UAE. He expressed his commitment to furthering cooperation across all sectors. He noted the UAE’s impressive development in various fields and its impactful regional and global efforts.
The Georgian Prime Minister congratulated the UAE on its exemplary organisation of the WGS. He praised the summit's role as a global platform dedicated to advancing government work and fostering international partnerships that support sustainable development.
World Governments Summit 2025 Highlights
The WGS 2025 is themed ‘Shaping Future Governments’ and features participation from over 30 heads of state and government. More than 80 international organisations are involved alongside 140 government delegations. The agenda includes 21 global forums exploring major future trends.
Over 200 interactive sessions will take place at the summit with more than 300 prominent speakers, including presidents, ministers, experts, thought leaders, and decision-makers. Additionally, there will be over 30 ministerial meetings attended by more than 400 ministers.
The summit will also publish 30 strategic reports in collaboration with international knowledge partners. These reports aim to provide insights into major future trends and transformations affecting governments worldwide.
