The Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA) in Sharjah recently hosted Sana bint Mohammed Suhail, Minister of Family. They explored ways to enhance the social and family work system in the UAE through a strategic partnership. This collaboration aims to create a significant impact beyond traditional coordination methods.

Minister Suhail expressed her honour in meeting SCFA leaders, recognising their exemplary model of institutional and social work. She stated, "This embodies the UAE’s vision of empowering families and strengthening their cohesion and sustainability." The minister highlighted the ministry's commitment to developing initiatives that consolidate family stability and protect the social fabric.

Strengthening Social Work in Sharjah

The meeting reviewed key initiatives by SCFA departments, such as the Family Court establishment, Sharjah's Family Strategy launch, "Kanaf" Child Protection Centre, and the Literary Association. These efforts underscore health-supporting associations' role in promoting health awareness across society.

Al Shamsi noted that this visit aligns with H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi's directives, supporting an integrated social care system. This cooperation aims to positively impact individuals' lives by placing people at the centre of development efforts.

The discussions emphasised integrating local and federal sectors as crucial for enhancing social sector work and achieving sustainable development. This integration unifies efforts and strategically directs resources to support various community segments effectively.

Iman Saif highlighted how this partnership bolsters department efforts alongside health-supporting associations like the Breastfeeding Friends Association and Diabetes Friends Association. These groups play a vital role in spreading awareness and encouraging healthy daily habits among citizens.

Child Protection and Cultural Identity

Hanadi Al Yafei stressed building an integrated protection system around children, aligning with the Health Promotion Department's mission for an informed society. The department aims to raise awareness about child protection from neglect, abuse, and exploitation as a societal responsibility.

Latifa Al Darmaki from SCFA's Cultural and Media Office remarked on culture's role in safeguarding national identity. This cooperation seeks to empower Emirati families as conscious forces capable of adapting confidently to changes while maintaining their roots.

Minister Suhail also outlined the ministry's strategic direction, focusing on policies that build stable families, enhance sound upbringing roles, consolidate national identity, and promote positive societal values. She affirmed that these initiatives are aligned with wise leadership directives to advance social work into more effective horizons.
