The exhibition is divided into three sections: Calligraphic Arts, Sciences and Innovations, and Harmony and Diversity. Each section features artefacts illustrating Islamic civilisation's artistic richness over centuries. Al Moosawi noted that this aligns with the museum’s commitment to cultural diplomacy and fostering awareness of Islamic heritage.

Aisha Rashid Deemas, Director-General of Sharjah Museums Authority, expressed her delight at hosting this exhibition in Oman. She highlighted the strong fraternal ties between the UAE and Oman, strengthened by both nations' leadership.

Among notable pieces displayed for the first time outside the UAE are a silver cup with Ottoman Sultan Abdul Hamid II's tughra, a six-sided dining chair crafted for Al-Nasir Muhammad ibn Qalawun, and an Islamic dirham minted in Baghdad post-Mongol invasion. Other exhibits include an 11th or 12th-century feline-shaped incense burner and a 13th-century gilded ceramic ewer.

The exhibition also celebrates deep-rooted historical connections between UAE and Oman. It reflects Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammed Al Qasimi's vision to use culture as a bridge for strengthening relationships and promoting cultural exchange.

Cultural Exchange Through Art

The exhibition aims to highlight Islamic civilisation's artistic achievements while strengthening collaboration with regional and international cultural institutions. By fostering cultural appreciation and knowledge exchange, it contributes to understanding enduring artistic traditions of the Islamic world.

Following a ribbon-cutting ceremony, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi toured the exhibition. He received detailed explanations about 82 rare artefacts on display, including manuscripts, metalwork, ceramics, and coins illustrating successive Islamic civilisations' artistic evolution.

The event was attended by Salim bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism; Mohammed bin Nakhira Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Oman; Hassan Yaqoub Al Mansouri from Sharjah Media Council; Aisha Rashid Deemas; Jamal Al Moosawi; along with senior officials and diplomats.

This exhibition not only displays rare Islamic artefacts but also offers an opportunity to reflect on shared historical legacies. It highlights exceptional craftsmanship defining Islamic civilisation through ages while celebrating strong ties between UAE and Oman.
