Lulu Retail Launches 'Al Emarat Awwal' Initiative To Promote Local Products And Support UAE Farmers
Lulu Retail has introduced the "Al Emarat Awwal" (UAE First) initiative to celebrate the 53rd Eid Al Etihad. This programme aims to enhance the visibility and demand for UAE-grown agricultural products and locally manufactured goods. The launch took place at Lulu Hypermarket in Forsan Central Mall, Abu Dhabi, with a focus on supporting UAE farmers.
Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment, inaugurated the initiative. She was joined by Yusuffali M.A., Chairman of Lulu, Dr. Mohammed Al Hammadi, Under Secretary, Salmeen Al Ameiri, CEO of SILAL, and other notable figures. Dr. Amna praised the initiative's potential to expand the reach of local agricultural products.

Yusuffali M.A. expressed pride in Lulu Retail's role in promoting local products. He noted that "Al Emarat Awwal" would support agriculture while contributing to the UAE's economic and social development. "We will continue to extend our full support to help strengthen the UAE’s local economy, promote sustainable agriculture, and ensure the long-term benefits of these efforts for our people," he said.
During the event, six outstanding UAE farmers were honoured for their contributions to agriculture. These farmers have shown dedication to sustainability and innovation in their fields. Their recognition highlights their commitment to advancing local farming practices.
In addition to launching "Al Emarat Awwal," Lulu signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SILAL. Humaid Ahmed Al Rumaithi from SILAL and Salim M.A., Group Director of Global Operations at Lulu Retail, signed this agreement. The partnership aims to strengthen ties within the local agricultural sector.
Salim VI, Chief Operating and Strategy Officer of Lulu, V Nandakumar, Director of Marketing and Communications at Lulu, and other officials attended the event. Their presence underscored the importance of collaboration in promoting locally sourced products across the UAE.
The "Al Emarat Awwal" initiative is set to play a crucial role in enhancing food security goals by strengthening local supply chains. It also aims to expand market access for UAE farmers' goods throughout the region.
