Latifa Bint Mohammed Reviews Progress On ICOM Dubai 2025 Preparations With Strategic Partners

H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, recently convened with key partners from both government and private sectors. The meeting focused on assessing the progress and preparations for the 27th General Conference of the International Council of Museums, ‘ICOM Dubai 2025’. Scheduled from 11–17 November 2025, this event will occur under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

During the discussions, H.H. Sheikha Latifa praised the collaborative efforts of all involved parties in ensuring smooth coordination for the conference. This event is expected to attract over 4,500 international delegates, including museum professionals and cultural leaders worldwide. H.H. Sheikha Latifa highlighted that hosting ICOM Dubai 2025 represents a significant milestone in Dubai’s cultural journey.

The conference underscores Dubai's status as a global cultural hub and its role as a bridge for cultural dialogue between nations. The theme for ICOM Dubai 2025 is ‘The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities,’ focusing on how museums can transform into spaces for learning, dialogue, and innovation.

Senior representatives from various supporting entities attended the meeting. These included Mattar Al Tayer from the Roads and Transport Authority; Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri of Dubai Police; Mona Ghanem Al Marri from the Government of Dubai Media Office; Hala Badri from Dubai Culture; Fahad Al Hassawi from Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company – du; and Mahir Julfar from Dubai World Trade Centre.

ICOM boasts over 60,000 members across 139 countries and territories. This extensive network includes museum professionals such as curators, conservators, educators, researchers, and directors. ICOM’s mission is rooted in the belief that museums are crucial in shaping a better world by promoting societal development, sustainability, and cultural preservation.

The meeting also included other notable figures like Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri from Identity and Foreigners Affairs; Abdulrahman Adhed Rashid Adhed Almehairi from Crown Prince Protocol; Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei from Operations Affairs at Dubai Police; Ahmed Bahrozyan from The Public Transport Agency at RTA; Muna Faisal Al Gurg from Museums & Heritage Sector at Dubai Culture; and Ahmad Almazrooei from Ceremonies and Protocol Department.

This international gathering reflects the emirate’s growing influence in fostering cultural dialogue globally. It highlights how cities can use culture to drive connection and creativity while reinforcing their positions on the world stage.
