Jawaher Al Qasimi Unveils Precious Heart Jewellery Collection To Support Global Humanitarian Initiatives
The exclusive jewellery collection ‘Precious Heart’ was unveiled by H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of Irthi Contemporary Crafts Council and The Big Heart Foundation (TBHF). This collaboration with the British luxury jewellery house Asprey aims to support TBHF’s humanitarian projects globally. All proceeds from the collection will aid refugees, displaced individuals, and vulnerable communities worldwide.
H.H. Sheikha Jawaher emphasised Sharjah's commitment to creating organisations that go beyond administrative roles. Under His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi's guidance, these entities focus on projects rooted in values, reflecting the emirate’s culture of giving and cooperation while safeguarding human dignity.
The ‘Precious Heart’ collection is inspired by the Emirati craft of Talli and features 20 pieces made from high-purity imperial jadeite. This rare jade type is known for its rich emerald-green hue. The collection also includes diamonds, amethysts, natural pearls, and is set in 18-karat gold. Its estimated total value is £9.7 million.
During her speech, H.H. Sheikha Jawaher stated: "Since the very first event organised by our first organization, we made it a condition that every beauty-focused initiative must be paired with a charitable cause that serves a community in need — and this belief has never changed."
The agreement between Irthi, TBHF, and Asprey was signed in London in 2024. It establishes a unique global model for partnerships between craft organisations, humanitarian bodies, and luxury brands to support noble causes. Asprey contributed 1,000 grams of high-purity imperial jadeite for this project.
John Rigas, CEO of Asprey, remarked: "Our shared values of sustainability, craftsmanship, and humanitarian service are fully aligned. We are proud to collaborate with Irthi and The Big Heart Foundation on this unique collection."
Auction for Change
A silent charity auction for the collection was held at The Chedi Al Bait Hotel in Sharjah until May 19. This event offered a chance to acquire limited-edition pieces merging refined craftsmanship with UAE cultural identity and a noble mission.
Reem BinKaram, Director General of Irthi Contemporary Crafts Council, highlighted Sheikha Jawaher's leadership in ensuring global reach and meaningful impact for the council’s initiatives. "Heritage reflects a nation's shared values and cultural foundations," she noted.
Sustainable Impact
Alya Obaid Al Musaiebi from TBHF stressed that sustainable humanitarian work is measured by its impact on lives rather than programme longevity. "The partnership between TBHF, Asprey, and Irthi is an example of sustainable collaboration," she said.
The ‘Precious Heart’ collection embodies Sharjah's vision by blending authenticity with modernity while committing to meaningful humanitarian change. It invites global institutions to contribute towards creating lasting impacts for individuals and communities alike.
