Falconry's Global Body Adds Nine Members, Expanding Its Reach

The International Federation For Falconry Sports and Racing (IFFSR) has expanded its membership by adding nine new entities. This brings the total number of federations and entities within IFFSR to 25, representing various global regions. These new members have completed the necessary procedures for obtaining membership.

The newly admitted members include the Kuwait Association for Falconry and Traditional Folk Games, Morocco's Al-Sharafa Qawasem Association of Falconry, and Al-Hassaniya Qawasemia Falconry Association. Other new members are Pakistan's Center for the Conservation and Rehabilitation of Birds of Prey, Lebanese Federation for Heritage and Traditional Sports, Mauritanian Federation For traditional Sports and Games, Yemeni Association for Falconry Sports and Racing, Czech Association for Falconry Racing, and Mongolian National Association for Falconry Sports and Racing.

Falconry Body Expands with New Members

Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Vice President of IFFSR, presided over the recent meeting where the announcement was made. The meeting was conducted via video conference and saw unanimous approval of membership applications from these new entities.

Rashid bin Markhan, Secretary-General of IFFSR, highlighted the importance of expanding the federation's membership. He noted that a larger membership base fosters a diversity of perspectives and ideas. This collective effort aims to advance falconry to the highest international standards.

Sheikh Zayed welcomed the new members, emphasising their crucial roles in advancing falconry on both national and international stages. He pointed out that the sport has grown significantly, reaching global standards with increased interest in organising and participating in falconry sports and racing events worldwide under IFFSR regulations.

The announcement was made during a recent meeting chaired by Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai. The board meeting underscored the federation's commitment to fostering collaboration and participation in falconry sports.
