International Conference On Promoting Arabic Language In Africa Concludes With Key Insights

The Higher Council for the Arabic Language in Africa, alongside the Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah, recently wrapped up the second International Scientific Conference. This event, titled "Methods of Promoting the Arabic Language in Africa and Strategies," was supported by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi and held under the patronage of Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, President of Mauritania.

Numerous Arab and African scholars participated in this conference. It attracted representatives from 40 countries across these regions. The gathering showcased 45 peer-reviewed research papers from 16 different nations, focusing on various aspects of promoting and teaching Arabic throughout Africa.

Conference on Arabic Language in Africa Ends

Dr. Mohamed Safi Al Mosteghanemi, Secretary-General of the Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah, led the seventh scientific session. This session explored diverse research topics such as using gamification to teach Arabic in South Africa and changes in Sudanese dialects. Other discussions included practical methods for addressing grammar challenges faced by learners.

The conference also delved into studies about Arabic's role in national sovereignty within Africa. Additionally, it examined how Zawiyas and free education initiatives contribute to preserving the Arabic language in Algeria. These discussions highlighted innovative strategies for enhancing Arabic language education across the continent.

Dr. Al Mosteghanemi remarked on the importance of the event's theme, stating that its value lies in its noble goal: serving one of the most eloquent languages, Arabic. He noted, "The significance of any event stems from its topic, and the second International Scientific Conference on Arabic in Africa derives its value from its noble goal: serving Arabic, one of the most eloquent and richest languages."

He further acknowledged the vital support provided by H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi.
