Dr. Al Suwaidi further explained that past editions have demonstrated the Prize's impact as both a recognition of excellence and a catalyst for ongoing educational improvement. The partnership with UNESCO aims to create an international network of educators and institutions dedicated to advancing education quality and supporting sustainable development goals.

The Prize reflects the UAE’s dedication to supporting global education initiatives. Dr. Al Suwaidi emphasised that investing in teacher development is crucial for building resilient education systems, aligning with the Foundation’s vision of promoting educational excellence and highlighting teachers' roles in sustainable development.

The winners are chosen by an independent International Jury of five distinguished education experts appointed by UNESCO's Director-General, ensuring diverse regional representation. The Prize encourages educational institutions and organisations worldwide to submit nominations via its online platform by 31 October 2025 (midnight, Paris time).

Established in 2008 with support from the Hamdan Foundation, this Prize contributes to UNESCO’s efforts towards Sustainable Development Goal 4 on education. It carries a total value of US$300,000, shared equally among three winners who also receive international recognition certificates.
