Hamdan Bin Mohammed Meets Seychelles President To Strengthen UAE-Seychelles Relations
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence, recently engaged in discussions with Wavel Ramkalawan, President of Seychelles. This meeting took place during the World Governments Summit 2025. The primary focus was on enhancing bilateral relations between the UAE and Seychelles, particularly in economic collaboration and exploring new partnership opportunities.
Both leaders emphasised the importance of expanding cooperation in crucial sectors such as sustainable development, trade, commerce, financial frameworks for cross-border transactions, travel and tourism, and renewable energy. H.H. Sheikh Hamdan stressed the need to identify new avenues for joint initiatives that could benefit both nations.
During their discussions, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan reiterated the UAE’s dedication to strengthening ties with Seychelles. He highlighted the significance of a relationship built on mutual respect, shared goals, and sustainable growth. The UAE is committed to fostering global partnerships to promote long-term socio-economic progress.
The meeting also explored how governments can work together to boost innovation and sustainable development through partnerships that address common challenges and opportunities. This aligns with the broader context of the World Governments Summit.
The meeting was attended by several notable figures from Dubai's leadership. These included H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority; Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence; Abdulla Al Basti, Secretary General of The Executive Council of Dubai; Mattar Al Tayer from Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority; and Helal Al Marri from the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism.
