Hamdan Bin Mohammed Engages With X Corp CEO To Foster Digital Transformation In Dubai
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, met with Linda Yaccarino, CEO of X Corp., at The Executive Office in Emirates Towers, Dubai. This meeting highlights the UAE's dedication to partnering with top global tech firms to strengthen its position as a hub for future-focused innovations.
Sheikh Hamdan emphasised Dubai and the UAE's ongoing efforts to collaborate with key players in the digital media sector. These partnerships aim to support the nation's goal of achieving digital transformation across various sectors. The Dubai Economic Agenda D33 aims to generate AED100 billion annually through digital advancements over the next decade.
The meeting explored potential collaborations that align with both the UAE and X’s shared commitment to innovation. Sheikh Hamdan expressed confidence in X as a long-term partner, stating, "We are excited to explore how this partnership can create lasting value for both the UAE and X." This collaboration sets an example for impactful cooperation between a global tech leader and one of the world’s most future-ready nations.
Dubai has established itself as a media epicentre over two decades, offering a unique platform for international companies seeking innovation and expansion. With around 4,000 media and tech companies forming a vibrant ecosystem, Dubai provides supportive infrastructure and serves as a launchpad for pioneering initiatives.
The city offers an ideal base for leading companies to introduce new services, drive technological advancements, and set benchmarks in digital engagement regionally and beyond. Sheikh Hamdan noted that X's vision of becoming an all-in-one digital hub aligns well with the UAE’s focus on AI and advanced technologies.
X Corp., formerly Twitter, opened its first office in the Middle East and North Africa region in Dubai in 2015. The region is home to some of X's largest markets. As of mid-2024, X had 250 million daily active users globally.
The meeting was attended by Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications. He also serves as Director-General of the Dubai Crown Prince's Office.
