Green Metal Industries To Establish $100M Steel Recycling Facility In KEZAD For Sustainable Construction
In a significant move towards sustainable industrial development, Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi – KEZAD Group and UAE-based Green Metal Industries have unveiled plans for a pioneering steel recycling and production facility. This AED367 million (US$100 million) project, set to rise in KEZAD Industrial Area (KEZAD al Ma’mourah), aims to transform metal scrap into high-quality steel products, catering to various sectors including construction and infrastructure.
The sprawling facility, covering 116,000 square metres, will not only bolster the local supply chain by sourcing raw materials within the region but also position Abu Dhabi as a hub for sustainable construction materials across the GCC and beyond. Mohamed Al Khader Al Ahmed, CEO of KEZAD Group, expressed enthusiasm about Green Metal Industries joining the KEZAD ecosystem, highlighting the alignment with Abu Dhabi's Industrial Strategy to foster a sustainable industrial landscape.

Mohammed M Noor, CEO of Green Metal Industries, shared his excitement about establishing their first production site in KEZAD. He emphasized the company's dedication to sustainability and innovation, along with a commitment to collaborate with local entities and the community for the project's success.
The facility is set to commence commercial operations in the first quarter of 2025. It promises not only to generate substantial employment opportunities but also to stimulate economic growth and innovation within the region. By employing advanced recycling technologies, the plant will play a vital role in reducing carbon emissions, thereby contributing positively to global sustainability efforts and impacting the local community.
With an array of high-quality materials such as Austenitic, Ferritic, Duplex, Martensitic grades of Stainless steel, alongside low and high alloy steel grades being manufactured locally, this initiative is poised to meet the increasing demand for sustainable steel products in Abu Dhabi and the wider region.
