Global Innovation Platforms And Sustainable Chinese Pavilion Highlight Big 5 Global In Dubai
The Big 5 Global 2025, inaugurated at the Dubai World Trade Centre, showcases global innovation platforms and a sustainable Chinese pavilion. This pavilion is constructed entirely from recyclable materials, underscoring the event's emphasis on technology, sustainability, and talent development. The exhibition aims to highlight advancements in these areas through various initiatives and displays.
Josine Heijmans, Senior Vice President – Construction at dmg events, emphasised that this year's edition focuses on four main pillars: enhancing supply chain resilience, technological progress, sustainable construction, and talent empowerment. A significant feature is the large Chinese pavilion spanning over 1,000 square metres, built entirely with recyclable materials. This initiative reflects the event's commitment to eco-friendly practices.

The exhibition introduces "HVACR World" to spotlight innovations in cooling and air-conditioning technologies. Additionally, the Digital Construction platform presents advanced solutions for managing sustainable projects using artificial intelligence and 3D printing. These platforms aim to showcase cutting-edge technologies that can transform construction practices.
Heijmans highlighted the extensive knowledge programmes available at the exhibition. There are 13 learning tracks, including new ones focused on artificial intelligence tools and sustainability. The "Trade Connections Breakfast" is designed to enhance collaboration between international participants and local buyers, fostering stronger business relationships.
The exhibition supports start-ups and small to medium-sized enterprises through the "Start-Up City" zone. This area gathers global innovations in construction technology and urban solutions. Entrepreneurs have opportunities to participate in a pitch competition aimed at expanding their international presence.
Exploring Sustainable Solutions
Sustainability remains a central theme of this year's event. Visitors can explore the Big 5 Impact Trail to discover exhibitors specialising in eco-friendly materials and low-emission solutions. This trail highlights companies committed to reducing environmental impact through innovative products and practices.
The Livable Cities Summit runs alongside the exhibition, discussing policies and strategic planning for building more sustainable cities. It focuses on creating resilient, people-centred urban environments while showcasing technological innovations that improve project quality and promote sustainable construction solutions.
This comprehensive approach ensures that attendees gain insights into current trends while exploring practical solutions for future challenges in construction and urban development.
