Global Aviation Leaders And Researchers Discuss Future Trends At Emirates Aviation University Conference
The 5th International Aviation Management Conference (IAMC) recently concluded at Emirates Aviation University (EAU). It gathered aviation leaders, researchers, and experts to discuss industry trends, innovation, and AI. The event highlighted advancements in aviation regulations and sustainability, showcasing how the industry is evolving to tackle emerging challenges.
Over 300 participants from various aviation entities, regulatory bodies, academia, and top universities attended. They were eager to delve into the latest research insights and address key challenges facing the sector. The conference provided a platform for sharing knowledge and fostering collaboration among industry stakeholders.

Professor Dr. Ahmad Al Ali, Vice Chancellor of Emirates Aviation University, opened the conference with an address. By uniting leaders and scholars under one roof, we aim to showcase aviation’s boldest and most imaginative ideas. Keynote speakers included notable figures such as Colonel Engineer Marwan Mohammad Singel from Dubai Police's Civil Aviation Security Centre and Mohamed Abubaker Farea from ICAO Middle East. Other speakers were Kashif Khalid from IATA Africa and Middle East, Professor Paul D. Williams from the University of Reading, and Professor Bijan Vasigh from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
From Emirates Group, senior executives like Steve Allen of dnata and Oliver Grohmann of Human Resources shared insights. John Walker discussed base maintenance strategies while Kieran Dowd addressed sourcing solutions at Emirates Flight Catering. These discussions focused on airline operations management innovations.
The conference also explored AI applications in aviation safety and security. Presentations outlined strategies for achieving zero waste to landfill by 2030. They highlighted climate change impacts on flight routes due to extreme weather events and shifting wind patterns.
