F.O.C.U.S. Platform Enters Second Phase To Enhance UAE Aviation Collaboration
The General Civil Aviation Authority has introduced a live display and monitoring platform within the Flight Operations Centralised Unified System (F.O.C.U.S.), completing the second phase of the programme. The new capability is designed to support real-time oversight of flight operations and strengthen coordination between aircraft operators and airports across all emirates.
The upgrade forms part of a broader effort by the Authority to build a single digital environment for aviation operations in the UAE. By consolidating communication channels and operational data, the platform aims to streamline routine procedures, cut duplication, and help stakeholders respond more quickly to operational requirements.

The live display and monitoring tools give aviation stakeholders an integrated operational view, allowing faster assessment of airport activities and traffic flows. This central overview is intended to support quicker decision-making, more effective resource planning, and smoother coordination between the General Civil Aviation Authority and airports operating under different management structures.
According to the Authority, the current phase is an important step in the evolution of Flight Operations Centralised Unified System (F.O.C.U.S.), as it introduces advanced digital functions that support shared workflows. These tools help align procedures among aviation partners and reinforce a common framework for handling approvals, notifications, and operational updates.
The development of Flight Operations Centralised Unified System (F.O.C.U.S.) is aligned with the UAE’s national digital transformation objectives. The system supports open data policies, encourages closer cooperation between government and private operators, and aims to simplify regulatory processes by hosting approvals and key operational information within one secure digital platform.
Eng. Aqeel Ahmed Al Zarooni, Assistant Director-General for Aviation Safety Affairs at the General Civil Aviation Authority, stated that the second phase has been completed and supports the Authority’s long-term vision. Future stages will add more sophisticated digital services and greater integration with partners, targeting a smart and highly connected aviation ecosystem serving both national and foreign operators.
The first phase of Flight Operations Centralised Unified System (F.O.C.U.S.), launched in September, created an online gateway for operational approvals at UAE airports. Through this portal, air operators access essential guidelines, reference documents, and direct links to relevant national entities, allowing regulatory and operational interactions to be managed from a single entry point.

Across both phases of Flight Operations Centralised Unified System (F.O.C.U.S.), the Authority is building a structured digital framework that links airports, operators, and regulators on one system. The project is intended to improve service efficiency, support consistent procedures nationwide, and provide a scalable base for further enhancements in aviation operations management.
