FTA Advances Initiatives To Streamline Tax Procedures In Support Of UAE’s Zero Bureaucracy Goal
Khalid Ali Al Bustani, Director-General of the Federal Tax Authority (FTA), highlighted the Authority's ongoing initiatives to expedite tax procedures under the UAE’s Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme. This programme aims to halve the duration of government services. Al Bustani stated that the FTA is intensifying efforts to introduce new services and facilities, minimising procedures and reducing service completion times.
During a workshop organised by the Innovation Team at the Federal Tax Authority, in collaboration with the 01Gov platform, Al Bustani discussed effective ways for participants to contribute to the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme. The workshop was attended by Jassim Al Zarooni, Chief Innovation Officer. Al Bustani called on stakeholders to present ideas and suggestions for sustainable development of tax services.

Al Bustani emphasised the importance of exchanging views and learning from practical real-world experiences to achieve positive results. He stressed that these efforts are crucial for developing FTA’s services and tax procedures, particularly in reducing transaction times and simplifying processes. The workshop focused on proposals to further reduce time and effort required to complete services by analysing and improving key services.
The Federal Tax Authority explained that the workshop discussed eliminating unnecessary procedures and requirements, aiming to deliver services effectively and efficiently to all client categories. The FTA’s Innovation Team confirmed that proposals from the workshop would be considered in ongoing development plans across all areas of its work.
The FTA is committed to supporting community service initiatives and driving sustainable development. The Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme is a significant step towards enhancing efficiency, quality, and flexibility in government services.
