ForsaTEK 2025 Showcases Innovations In Aviation Technology And Partnerships

H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, inaugurated the third edition of ForsaTEK. This annual event, organised by the Emirates Group, took place at their headquarters. It showcased advanced technology partnerships, promising startups, and discussions on innovative concepts aimed at driving transformative change in the aviation sector.

The event was attended by Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of Education, along with several senior executives from the Emirates Group. This year's forum focused on how artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and the Internet of Things (IoT) are reshaping aviation. It also highlighted the importance of human engagement in embracing technology to maximise its effectiveness.

ForsaTEK 2025 Highlights Aviation Innovations

This year’s ForsaTEK featured over 40 showcases from both in-house teams and partners. These were strategically organised across the innovation pipeline spectrum. The showcases ranged from early-stage research and prototyping to proof-of-concept trials and fully launched initiatives being scaled up.

Fully launched initiatives included Transguard and Emirates Group Security’s advanced autonomous robotics for enhancing urban safety and security. Dnata Cargo introduced an autonomous drone system for inventory validation, while dnata showcased 3D prototyping for custom manufacturing of spare parts. Additionally, Emirates Airport Services presented an AI-enabled aircraft turnaround analysis system for resource optimisation.

The Trial Zone featured several accessibility initiatives. Glidance introduced a self-guided mobility aid for visually impaired individuals to navigate safely and independently. The JeffCAN immersive media chair blended sensory design with technology to support neurodiverse passengers. Airbus showcased an Accessible and Inclusive cabin with a Persons with Reduced Mobility (PRM) lavatory and personal wheelchair onboard.

Maintenance trials included an AI platform for fast engine part detection and identification. Apple Vision Pro-based augmented reality was used for visualising brake, wheel, and APU assemblies. Drone-based aircraft inspections offered fast, safe exterior inspections.

Engagement Zones

A pitch zone featured 13 startups presenting their ideas to VIPs, investors, and tech industry representatives. People and youth engagement areas within the Experience Zone were activated to showcase innovation journeys and enhance visitor engagement.

Sara Al Amiri delivered ForsaTEK 2025’s opening keynote on ‘disruption of technology on public education’. The UAE recently integrated AI into school curricula to prepare youth for a tech-driven world while positioning itself as a global AI leader.

Expert Insights

The programme included talks by renowned tech experts like Dr. Mark Esposito from Harvard University discussing technology strategies; Younes Bensouda Mourri from Stanford University rethinking human intelligence in an AI-powered world; Shekhar Kapur explored AI's future impact on society.

The Emirates Group also launched its Afkar app during ForsaTEK 2025. Afkar is a digital platform allowing employees to contribute ideas for implementation across the company.

The winning concept unveiled at this year's event was automating visa validation for customers, reducing travel friction points further enhancing passenger experience.
