Fazza Falcons Racing Cup Launches In Dubai Under H.H. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed's Patronage
H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, attended the inaugural Fazza Falcons Racing Cup in Dubai. Accompanied by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the event showcased six races across three categories. Participants qualified through the Fazza Falconry Championship (Al Telwah).
Sheikh Ahmed praised H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for elevating falconry to a globally recognised sport. His leadership has boosted its status in the UAE and expanded its international appeal. "His visionary leadership and steadfast support have not only enhanced the status of the sport within the UAE but also expanded its appeal internationally," he said.
The Fazza Falcons Racing Cup is considered a highlight of the falconry season, showcasing top-tier performances and exceptional timings. The championship featured six races with elite falcons, setting new standards in a short time. This reflects the UAE’s initiatives to enhance the sport's global standing.
During the event, Sheikh Ahmed inaugurated the Hamdan bin Mohammed Heritage Center's headquarters in Lahbab, Dubai. Present were Abdullah Hamdan bin Dalmook, CEO of the Center; Rashid bin Markhan, Secretary-General of the UAE Falcons Federation; and Faris Mohammed Al Mutawa, Secretary-General of the National Olympic Committee.
Sheikh Ahmed honoured winners in each category, with two races per category. In the Sheikhs category, race formats included Jeer Shaheen-Jeer Teba (Farkh) and Pure Jeer-Qarmousha (Farkh). These formats were also part of Open Public and Public Owners categories.
In the first round of Sheikhs category Pure Jeer-Qarmousha (Farkh), Al-Nif secured first place with Helman at 00:16.698 seconds. Al-Nif also took second with Jiyash at 00:16.817 seconds, while Al-Nif (M) came third with MG1 at 00:16.940 seconds.
Exceptional Performances
The second round saw M7 dominate Jeer Shaheen - Jeer Taba (Farkh), clinching all top spots. Muwaffaq finished first at 00:16.451 seconds, followed by S359 at 00:16.493 seconds and Muhalhal at 00:16.521 seconds.
In Open Public category's third round for Pure Jeer-Qarmousha (Farkh), Dubai Team claimed first and second places with Asad and R25 at 00:16.795 and 00:16.944 seconds respectively. RBJ Team's Shamah secured third at 00:16.998 seconds.
Commitment to Falconry Development
The fourth round saw Ahmed Rashid Saeed bin Saroud Al Mansouri win with his falcon Al-Oranji at 00:16.472 seconds in Jeer Shaheen-Jeer Teba (Farkh). Abdullah Khalfan Butti Salem Al Qubaisi placed second with falcon 51 at 00:16.512 seconds, while Ghadir Suhail Salem bin Ghadir Al Ketbi was third with Limited at 00:16.580 seconds.
Saeed Musabah Mohammed Al Shadi topped Pure Jeer-Qarmousha (Farkh) owners category fifth round with falcon 71 at 00:16.681 seconds; Rashid Mohammed Jaber Al Mutaiwee Al Mansouri came second with Al Jazz at 00:16.965 seconds; Ghadir Mohammed Ghadir Saeed Al Mansouri was third with Al Moatamad at 00:17.122 seconds.
Technical Excellence in Falconry
Khalifa Sultan Salem Hamad Al Hafri won first and third places in sixth round owners' Jeer Shaheen-Jeer Teba (Farkh) with T3 and Haab Reeh timing 00:17.042 and 00:17.398 seconds respectively; Juma Abdullah Mohammed Ahmed Al Falahi took second place with falcon 210 timing 00:17.226 seconds.
The qualification process focused on juvenile falcons from Fazza Falconry Championship (Al-Telwah). Top three from Ramz-Nakdy first and Golden Burqa rounds qualified alongside Nakdy rounds' winners.
Impact on Emirati Falconers
Rashid bin Markhan expressed gratitude for Sheikh Ahmed's support in promoting falconry excellence within UAE’s year-round high-calibre events calendar that enhances Emirati falconers' skills globally enabling them to achieve podium finishes bringing pride by raising UAE flag internationally.
