Expand North Star 2024 Showcases Innovative Solutions Transforming The Global Digital Economy
This year's Expand North Star event has provided an exceptional platform for startups to present their innovative smart technologies, many of which are debuting. The event strengthens Dubai's role as a global hub for advanced technologies. Held from 13-16 October at Dubai Harbour, the event is organised by the Dubai World Trade Centre and hosted by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy.
Startups at Expand North Star 2024 have introduced cutting-edge digital solutions and advanced technologies that meet various sector needs, contributing significantly to shaping the global digital economy. The exhibition attracted some of the most creative minds worldwide, showcasing the latest technological innovations.

The exhibition featured pioneering solutions in areas such as sustainable water generation, aviation propulsion systems, mobile EV charging, and advanced medical imaging. CycloTech, an Austrian startup, aims to transform urban transport with its cyclo rotor propulsion system. This technology is suitable for flying cars and other individual air mobility forms, offering thrust vectoring for agile aircraft manoeuvring.
Ramy Korkis Kanaan, Flight Test Engineer at CycloTech, emphasised Dubai's strategic importance for expansion. He stated, "Dubai is a hub for future technologies. Expand North Star has been an incredible opportunity to connect with potential partners and investors in the UAE and the wider Arab region."
Beijing Sebo from China presented its hands-free mobile charging solution for electric vehicles. Users can request a charge via an app, and self-driving charging equipment will arrive at their location. Lin Lin, General Manager for Overseas Business at Beijing Sebo, noted that "Dubai's rapidly growing electric vehicle adoption rate and focus on sustainability make it an ideal location to launch and expand our services."
Mahwa, a UAE-based company under Bainuna Group, introduced its atmospheric water generation technology. Using patented iGenius technology, Mahwa's machines produce pure drinking water from air, addressing water scarcity concerns.
Medical Advancements Highlighted
Holoeyes from Japan showcased medical visualisation devices that use cloud technology to improve medical education and surgical planning. These devices also facilitate knowledge sharing among doctors.
