Emirates Post Unveils Four Commemorative Stamps For Dubai 2026 World Stamp Exhibition
Emirates Post has partnered with the Emirates Philatelic Association to issue four commemorative stamp releases linked to the Dubai 2026 World Stamp Exhibition. The series supports knowledge-based specialist hobbies, strengthens the UAE’s position on the global exhibition map and presents postage stamps as cultural records that connect communities and support civilisational exchange.
The collection progresses across several themes. One stamp marks the hosting of Dubai 2026, another recognises the Federation of Inter-Asian Philately’s 50th anniversary, a third honours the International Federation of Philately’s centenary, and the final issue celebrates the Emirates Philatelic Association’s institutional journey and contribution to philately in the UAE and abroad.

The first day stamp is dedicated to the Emirates Philatelic Association’s role in bringing the Dubai 2026 World Stamp Exhibition to the UAE. This event is described as the first world stamp exhibition of its kind held in the Arab region and West Asia and is expected to increase the country’s visibility among global collectors and postal institutions.
The Dubai 2026 exhibition hosts participants from 76 countries, including the United Nations Postal Administration and the Universal Postal Union. A dedicated competition is organised for postal administrations. Thousands of rare and valuable stamps are displayed, providing a structured setting for cultural dialogue, specialist knowledge exchange and networking among collectors, postal entities and philatelic organisations.
The four Emirates Post commemorative stamps and their themes are summarised below.
| Stamp Issue | Occasion | Key Details |
|---|---|---|
| First day stamp | Dubai 2026 World Stamp Exhibition | First world stamp exhibition of its kind in the Arab region and West Asia; hosted by the Emirates Philatelic Association. |
| Second day issue | 50th anniversary of FIAP | Marks the Federation of Inter-Asian Philately, founded in Singapore in 1974. |
| Third stamp | Centenary of FIP | Celebrates the International Federation of Philately, founded in 1926. |
| Final stamp | Emirates Philatelic Association | Highlights the Association’s development since its establishment on 24th June 1996. |
The second day issue focuses on the 50 years of the Federation of Inter-Asian Philately. FIAP was created in Singapore in 1974 as a non-profit, non-political federation, representing philatelic societies across Asia and Australasia. The stamp notes FIAP’s long effort to advance philately, encourage knowledge sharing, support member cooperation and back specialised regional exhibitions.
The third commemorative stamp acknowledges 100 years of the International Federation of Philately. FIP was founded in 1926 and is recognised as a key international authority for organised stamp collecting and exhibition standards. The issue outlines FIP’s growth from a small group to a network of more than 90 member countries and three associate country members.
The FIP centenary stamp also draws attention to the Federation’s formal role in endorsing and recognising philatelic exhibitions. It notes that FIP applies internationally approved criteria when supporting events. This framework helps ensure consistent evaluation standards, enhances exhibition credibility and offers collectors and postal administrations a shared reference point for competitive displays.
The last stamp in the Emirates Post series reflects on the Emirates Philatelic Association’s development. Established under Ministerial Resolution No. (372) dated 24th June 1996, the Association has widened participation, strengthened the hobby and encouraged structured exchange of knowledge and expertise. It has become a specialised community reference point in philately at both domestic and international levels.
Beyond the stamps themselves, Emirates Post highlights the Emirates Philatelic Association’s broader contribution. The Association has promoted philately locally and internationally through educational activities, exhibitions and seminars. It has also helped build institutional frameworks that align with the UAE’s cultural direction, supporting the stamp’s role as both historical document and tool for social and cultural dialogue.
Emirates Post states that the commemorative issues show how postal services intersect with cultural expression and national narrative. The stamps document important milestones, highlight long-standing partnerships and project the UAE’s cultural development. They also operate as instruments of soft power by presenting UAE stories and collaborations to a global audience of collectors, public bodies and other stakeholders.
