Emirates Expands Fleet With Order Of 8 Airbus A350-900 Aircraft Worth USD 3.4 Billion At Dubai Airshow 2025
Emirates has announced an order for eight more Airbus A350-900 aircraft at the Dubai Airshow 2025. These planes, equipped with Rolls-Royce Trent XWB84 engines, are valued at US$ 3.4 billion based on list prices. This addition will increase Emirates' A350-900 fleet to 73 units once all deliveries are completed. Currently, Emirates has received 13 A350 aircraft.
The newly ordered A350-900s are scheduled for delivery in 2031. H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, stated that the introduction of the A350 last November provided extra capacity and allowed more customers to experience their latest inflight products, including Premium Economy seats.

In addition to this order, Emirates recently announced a new order for Boeing 777-9 aircraft. With these additions, Emirates now has a total of 375 wide-body aircraft on its order book. This significant investment aims to enhance customer experience and contribute to aviation's future through job creation and value generation.
Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus EVP Sales of the Commercial Aircraft business, expressed satisfaction with Emirates renewing its commitment to the Airbus A350. He highlighted that this model continues to set standards for long-haul travel and looks forward to supporting Emirates as it expands operations with these modern wide-body aircraft.
Omar Ali Adib from Rolls-Royce commented on the announcement, emphasising the confidence in the Trent XWB-84 engine that exclusively powers the Airbus A350-900. He noted its decade-long industry benchmark status for large aero-engines due to its durability and low fuel consumption.
Adib further expressed gratitude towards Emirates for their ongoing trust in Rolls-Royce and took pride in continuing their long-standing relationship. The Trent XWB-84 is seen as an ideal platform supporting Emirates' expansion plans.
This strategic move by Emirates underscores its commitment to enhancing its fleet with cutting-edge technology while maintaining strong partnerships with leading aerospace companies like Airbus and Rolls-Royce.
