Emirates 2025 Performance Reflects 55.6 Million Passengers And Major Global Milestones

Emirates maintained its position as the world’s largest international airline in 2025, carrying 55.6 million passengers on nearly 180,580 flights and ordering 73 new aircraft, while also securing 25 awards including Best Airline in the World at the ULTRAs and Best Airline Worldwide at the Business Traveller Middle East Awards.

The airline said 2025, which marked 40 years since operations began in October, reflected a clear strategy for the future of travel based on consistent service standards, investment in new technology, network growth and wider community initiatives that strengthened its role in global aviation and regional economic activity.

Emirates 2025 milestones and 55.6m passengers

Emirates highlighted ten main milestones for 2025, led by the introduction of its first Airbus A350 in early January, followed by a rapid build-up of A350 services to 18 cities using 16 aircraft, alongside continued refurbishment of Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft to align cabin products across its long-haul fleet.

During the Dubai Airshow in November, Emirates confirmed plans to install Starlink satellite internet on 232 aircraft, starting with Boeing 777s, and stated that Emirates will become the first airline worldwide to operate Airbus A380 aircraft fitted with this system in early 2026, offering higher connectivity standards across long-haul routes.

By the end of 2026, more than 123 Emirates aircraft are expected to provide complimentary high-speed internet for passengers in all cabins, supporting streaming, remote work, entertainment and general browsing, which aligns with the carrier’s broader strategy to enhance the onboard digital experience alongside other service upgrades introduced during the year.

Route development continued across Asia in 2025, with Emirates launching daily non-stop flights to Shenzhen and Hangzhou in mainland China and adding services to Da Nang in Vietnam and Siem Reap in Cambodia via Bangkok, reinforcing the airline’s focus on high-growth Asian markets and tourism flows to and from the Middle East.

Emirates further rolled out its Premium Economy product across newly delivered Airbus A350 aircraft and refurbished Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 jets; this cabin now appears on more than 100 aircraft serving nearly 70 cities, representing about 40 percent of the airline’s passenger fleet and targeting travellers seeking mid-tier comfort.

Loyalty, sponsorships and cargo initiatives at Emirates airline 2025

Emirates Skywards celebrated its silver jubilee during 2025, reporting 37 million members across 190 countries, and noted that over the past 20 years the programme has issued almost 400 billion miles through more than 100 partners, covering 1,400 flight destinations and 30,000 hotels, while continuing to attract around 78,000 new members weekly.

Members redeem over 800 flight rewards each day, with one upgrade processed every minute, reflecting strong engagement with the loyalty ecosystem as Emirates positions Skywards as a central tool for customer retention, spend on partner networks and repeat travel on routes linking the Middle East with Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas.

In the sponsorship portfolio, Emirates signed or renewed nine major sports agreements in 2025, including a seven-year deal making Emirates a Platinum Partner of FC Bayern Munich, an extension of its World Rugby partnership through 2035, and a new agreement with European Professional Club Rugby, connecting the airline to more than 70 million rugby fans.

Other sponsorships announced or renewed included Real Madrid Basketball, an 18-year partnership renewal with AC Milan, extensions with Olympique Lyonnais and the ATP Tour through 2030, plus continued backing for UAE Team Emirates XRG, supporting global brand visibility in football, basketball, rugby, tennis and cycling across Europe and key international markets.

Emirates also launched Emirates Courier Express in 2025, which expanded quickly to reach 10 international markets with an average delivery time not exceeding three days and further expansion planned in 2026, strengthening the airline’s logistics offering alongside traditional cargo operations and tapping growth in e-commerce and time-sensitive shipments.

Accessibility remained a core focus as Emirates became the first airline globally to secure Autism Certified Airline status after training more than 30,000 cabin crew and ground employees, while launching an Accessible and Inclusive Travel Hub, expanding pre-travel rehearsal programmes in 17 cities, distributing over 3,700 Aircrafted KIDS backpacks in eight countries, and adding new inflight support tools including a safety-approved hooded mattress in Business Class plus more than 600 captioned and 200 audio-described films, underscoring its wider commitment to inclusive travel and community support as it closed a year of network growth and industry recognition.
