Ministry Of Energy And Infrastructure Announces Elimination Of Bureaucracy In 21 Services To Enhance Efficiency
The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) has made significant strides in reducing bureaucracy by eliminating over 745,000 government procedures across 21 services. This initiative has cut service delivery times by 75%, saving customers 21 million hours and reducing visits to the Ministry by the same percentage. As a result, customer satisfaction with MoEI services has increased to 91%.
The announcement was made during an event honouring recipients of the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Award for Zero Government Bureaucracy. This award promotes innovation and efficiency in government operations, encouraging employees to adopt practices that simplify services. The ceremony saw participation from MoEI officials, partners, and staff.

Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at MoEI, praised the teams involved for their efforts in creating adaptable government services that meet public needs while keeping up with technological advancements. He stated, "Our endeavours to eliminate government bureaucracy reflect the Ministry's commitment to improving the quality of our services. Innovation in government processes is not only a goal, but a necessity to keep abreast of global developments and meet the expectations of customers."
Al Olama emphasised that the award aligns with the Ministry's strategy to foster a culture of excellence and innovation. It aims not just to recognise winners but also to inspire all employees to devise innovative solutions to challenges they encounter. He added that MoEI is committed to supporting initiatives that contribute to a more resilient and efficient business model.
Laila Al Bloushi, Director of Strategy and the Future Department at MoEI, highlighted the Ministry's success in achieving remarkable results through the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme. She said, "The Ministry has successfully achieved exceptional results as part of the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme that aims to simplify processes and reduce the time of delivering services."
