EAD Showcases AI-Driven Nature Learning At ADIHEX 2024
The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) has chosen nature-based learning and artificial intelligence (AI) as its main theme for the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX). The event, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, runs from 31st August to 8th September at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
The Agency’s stand will feature an immersive experience called ‘Hidden Wonders in the Dark Room’. This area aims to raise awareness about biodiversity conservation by showcasing live specimens of insects and reptiles. It highlights EAD's conservation efforts while providing a hands-on learning experience that connects visitors with the natural world.
Visitors can engage with interactive features such as an AI tool that generates personalised nature film trailers. This tool offers a unique way to explore Abu Dhabi's biodiversity. Additionally, an AI chatbot will be available to answer environmental questions from attendees.

Ahmed Baharoon, Executive Director of Environment Information, Science Outreach Management Sector at EAD, stated, "The Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition is always a significant event on our annual calendar and this year we are participating under the exciting and dynamic theme of incorporating Artificial Intelligence to showcase the bountiful diversity of Abu Dhabi’s environment. At EAD, we are moving progressively towards using AI across a range of our projects and initiatives, in line with international best practises as well as the vision of the UAE leadership. That is why we are promoting it during the exhibition, so that visitors can enjoy learning about the environment via an innovative and interactive experience."
The AI tool is part of naha – a personalised digital platform designed to promote sustainability and elevate environmental awareness. Naha centralises EAD's key science and data-driven outreach initiatives, encouraging participation in various programmes aimed at turning environmental intentions into meaningful actions.
The Environment Hub Majlis will serve as a space for discussions and presentations. Youth can participate in talks, podcasts, and awareness sessions covering topics related to environmental conservation and sustainability. This encourages active participation in critical issues affecting our environment.
Interactive touch screens will mirror EAD's innovative smartphone applications like Baadr, Sahim, and Abu Dhabi Nature. These applications provide additional ways for visitors to engage with environmental information and initiatives.
The inclusion of AI technology aims to educate and inspire ADIHEX visitors about the natural environment through innovative methods. By integrating these tools, EAD hopes to enhance its efforts in promoting environmental awareness and sustainability practices across Abu Dhabi.
This year's ADIHEX theme reflects EAD's commitment to using advanced technology for environmental education. The agency continues to align its initiatives with international best practices and the vision set by UAE leadership.
The exhibition provides a platform for showcasing Abu Dhabi's rich biodiversity while promoting sustainable practices through engaging experiences. Visitors are encouraged to learn about conservation efforts and participate actively in preserving the natural environment.
