DXB500 Communication Training Programme Equips Dubai Media Professionals With Essential Skills And Strategies
The DXB500 Communication Training Programme's second edition wrapped up on 8th May. This initiative, launched by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aims to enhance the skills of media and communication professionals in Dubai. The Government of Dubai Media Office, along with global partners, implemented this comprehensive two-day training.
Participants engaged in workshops and interactive sessions led by experts. These sessions provided insights into navigating various platforms and scenarios relevant to their organisations. The programme also emphasised identifying effective tools and strategies for optimising messaging while adapting to global media trends.

Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, highlighted the programme's role in supporting media professionals across diverse entities. She stated that such initiatives reflect leadership's vision to develop specialised media capabilities. The programme aims to equip individuals with skills necessary for understanding the evolving media landscape.
The DXB500 programme seeks to enhance communication officers' abilities in planning and creating effective content within the public sector. It focuses on improving digital communication through modern platforms and achieving better crisis management outcomes. Additionally, it aims to build impactful institutional narratives and strengthen partnerships with international media organisations.
Rashid Humaid Almarri, Director of Strategic Relations at the Government of Dubai Media Office, stressed the importance of the DXB500 programme for organisational communication leaders. He noted that it ensures alignment and integration of media messages while enhancing teams' ability to present comprehensive policies and initiatives effectively.
Hands-On Training Experience
Huda Dakhouni, Project Manager for DXB500, expressed enthusiasm about offering a practical training experience. Participants were empowered with new tools and strategies to enhance messaging effectiveness. The programme included interactive sessions that enriched participants' experiences and demonstrated government entities' commitment to developing their media teams.
The two-day schedule was packed with activities designed to boost storytelling techniques and engagement strategies across digital platforms. Day one included workshops on impactful storytelling, while day two focused on practical skill development like smartphone videography and rapid editing skills.

The DXB500 initiative is part of Dubai’s broader vision for future readiness. It focuses on building national talent competencies to support long-term development plans. Led by experts from prestigious local and international organisations, it redefines communication strategies in the emirate.
The DXB500 programme concluded with project presentations in a simulated environment. Each edition targets 50 participants from diverse entities in Dubai, ensuring sustained professional development through biannual sessions. This initiative continues to shape skilled communication leaders capable of representing their institutions effectively.
