Dubai Unveils Comprehensive Security Measures For Safe 2025 New Year's Eve Celebrations

The Events Security Committee in Dubai has announced its extensive plans to ensure safety during the 2025 New Year’s Eve celebrations. Building on last year's success, Dubai will be divided into four operational sectors: North, Central, West, and Maritime. This division aims to streamline safety measures and improve public services in collaboration with strategic partners.

To enhance the experience for workers, dedicated viewing areas will be set up. These zones will include large screens and meal services, allowing workers to enjoy the festivities safely without needing to move to crowded locations. The 2025 celebrations will feature fireworks at 36 sites across Dubai, including Burj Khalifa and Global Village.

Dubai's Security Plan for New Year's Eve 2025

Dubai Police will deploy 8,530 officers and 1,145 patrols, supported by 33 marine rescue boats and Civil Defence vehicles. Six mobile operations rooms will monitor activities throughout the emirate. Tents in Downtown Dubai will offer lost and found services, first aid, logistical support, assistance for lost children, and visitor guidance.

During a press conference at InterContinental Dubai Festival City, officials outlined comprehensive security plans for New Year's Eve. Attendees included Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri and representatives from 55 government and private entities. Major General Al Mansouri praised the collaborative efforts of these entities in ensuring safety.

Hussain Al Banna detailed the RTA's traffic plan for the Burj Khalifa area. Road closures will begin at 4:00 PM on December 31st for several streets. The Dubai Metro will operate continuously for 43 hours from December 31st to January 1st. Shuttle services with 260 buses will transport guests to key locations.

Additional parking spaces will be available at Al Wasl Club and Al Jaffiliya with shuttle buses running from 3:00 PM. Traffic lights near major areas will be monitored in real-time, with pedestrian routes clearly marked. Smart screens will inform drivers about road closures and alternative routes.

Public Health and Safety Preparations

Adel Al Marzouqi confirmed that Dubai Municipality is prepared with 2,776 staff deployed for public health and safety tasks. Inspections at malls, hotels, restaurants, and event sites ensure food safety. Special teams will manage parks and beaches with lifeguards on duty at night.

Waste management operations will run round-the-clock to maintain cleanliness at event sites. Major General Ali Hassan Al Mutawa announced that 1,097 firefighters with advanced vehicles are ready across five sectors. Inspections of critical facilities have ensured compliance with safety standards.

Emergency Services Readiness

Mishal Abdul Karim Julfar highlighted Dubai Ambulance's readiness with 224 emergency points staffed by 593 paramedics strategically deployed across key areas like Dubai Mall. Resources include marine rescue boats and ambulances near Burj Khalifa. A volunteer programme involves trained volunteers supporting medical teams.

The public is advised to carry necessary medications and contact emergency services via phone or app if needed. Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri stated that "As Dubai prepares to welcome the new year, Dubai Police and our key partners have stepped up the measures to deliver unmatched security."

Al Marri urged public cooperation with guidelines and immediate reporting of suspicious behaviour to ensure a safe celebration for all attendees.
