Dubai Ride 2024 Sets Record With Over 37,000 Participants Promoting Fitness And Community Spirit
The streets of Dubai buzzed with excitement as the Dubai Ride, hosted by DP World, took over Sheikh Zayed Road and Downtown Dubai. This event, part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC), attracted 37,130 cyclists. Both amateur and experienced riders enjoyed a unique chance to explore Dubai's landmarks from their bikes.
Participants could choose between two routes: a 4-km family-friendly loop around Downtown Dubai or a 12-km stretch along Sheikh Zayed Road. The shorter route passed through Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, while the longer one included sights like Burj Khalifa and Museum of the Future.

This year introduced the thrilling Dubai Ride Speed Laps for seasoned cyclists. Participants raced down Sheikh Zayed Road at an average speed of 30km/h before joining others for the main event. This addition added a competitive edge to the morning's activities.
Among those cycling were renowned athletes like American triathlete Taylor Spivey and UAE's Safia Al Sayegh. Their participation highlighted the benefits of an active lifestyle and inspired many attendees. Taylor was in Dubai for the inaugural T100 Triathlon World Championship Final.
The event was more than just cycling; it was a celebration of fitness and fun. Dubai Police supercars led the start alongside talabat riders, while DJs curated by UNTOLD Dubai provided music. Modesh World characters Modesh and Dana joined in, adding joy to the festivities.
Saeed Hareb from Dubai Sports Council commented on the event's success: "The phenomenal success of this year’s Dubai Ride highlighted the power of our incredible community." He emphasized how such events promote an active lifestyle, enhancing life quality in Dubai.
Support from Key Partners
The event was organised by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and supported by various partners like RTA and Emaar. Decathlon offered repair services on-site and free bike repairs at its stores before the event, ensuring participants had a smooth experience.
