Dubai Resilience Centre Signs Strategic MoUs To Enhance Emergency Preparedness And Resilience In Dubai
Under the guidance of H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Resilience Centre has formalised three memoranda of understanding (MoUs) at Emirates Towers. These agreements, signed with the National Center of Meteorology, Dubai Land Department (DLD), and Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU), aim to bolster the emirate's emergency response capabilities and readiness.
H.H. Sheikh Mansoor highlighted that these strategic alliances showcase a robust collaborative spirit among local, federal, and academic bodies. This collaboration aligns with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's vision to establish Dubai as a global resilience model that transforms challenges into opportunities for a sustainable future.
The MoUs are designed to unify efforts across national entities by fostering cooperation in crisis preparedness. They focus on building human capacity, sharing data, and conducting joint research to enhance decision-making and response efficiency at both operational and strategic levels.
The agreement with the Dubai Land Department aims to develop resilience standards within the real estate sector. It seeks to improve operational readiness through digital system integration and risk-related data exchange while promoting sustainable urban planning practices.
The partnership with the National Center of Meteorology centres on enhancing early warning systems. It involves analysing meteorological risks and exchanging technical expertise to enable quicker responses to climate-related challenges.
Meanwhile, the MoU with Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University focuses on launching a ‘Resilience Diploma’. This initiative includes designing academic programmes in resilience, crisis management, artificial intelligence, and climate change. Joint research initiatives will also support future policy-making efforts.
Broader Strategic Partnerships
The Dubai Resilience Centre plans to expand its strategic partnerships across government, academia, and private sectors. This expansion aims to reinforce Dubai’s position as a leader in developing resilient systems capable of effectively managing crises for a safer future.
The signing ceremony was attended by key figures including Omar Bushahab from DLD; Dr Abdullah Ahmed Al Mandous from the National Center of Meteorology; Dr Mansoor Al Awar from HBMSU; and Ahmed Ateeq Bourguiba from the Dubai Resilience Centre.
H.H. Sheikh Mansoor emphasised that Dubai's preparedness is rooted in long-term planning and investment in national talent. He noted that resilience involves anticipating changes, adapting to global trends, and continuously improving systems to protect development achievements.
