Dubai Police And Sharjah Islamic Bank Collaborate On Anti-Economic Crime Operations Centre Development
The Dubai Police and Sharjah Islamic Bank have formalised their collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement aims to enhance cooperation, coordination, and partnership relations. The focus is on strengthening the security system through joint efforts, particularly in studying and anticipating future economically motivated crimes. Both parties will share expertise and work together on areas of mutual interest.
Brigadier Muhammad Aqeel Ahli, representing Dubai Police, highlighted the importance of partnerships with the private sector. He stated that these collaborations are crucial for developing predictive models that achieve shared goals in preventive planning. The aim is to elevate performance standards while considering global economic, criminal, and technological changes.

Dr Amin Khairallah Al Ali from Sharjah Islamic Bank expressed commitment to enhancing cooperation with government and private entities across the UAE. He noted that this MoU represents a significant step towards institutional integration through knowledge exchange. The bank is dedicated to providing innovative solutions using advanced technology to improve community services.
The MoU outlines contributions towards developing the Anti-Economic Crime Operations Centre platform under Dubai Police's supervision. It also includes upgrading the General Department of Criminal Investigation operations room. Information sharing and launching joint initiatives aim to raise awareness about economic and financial crimes.
Brigadier Ahli emphasised Dubai's role as a global economic hub striving for enhanced security through internal and external partnerships. Strategic plans are aligned with global trends to anticipate future security challenges, especially in combating economic crime. The evolving nature of fraud requires proactive measures due to increased reliance on technology.
Innovative Solutions for Enhanced Security
Dr Al Ali mentioned that the MoU opens new avenues for cooperation between the bank and Dubai Police. This partnership offers opportunities to develop high-impact initiatives that enhance banking service security and privacy. The bank aims to contribute meaningfully through this collaboration, reflecting its vision of sustainability and innovation.
The agreement also focuses on exchanging knowledge and expertise to improve human resource skills between both organisations. Joint security and community initiatives will be launched to address economic crime awareness effectively.
"The evolving nature of fraud, as international studies indicate, has intensified as countries and individuals increasingly rely on technology in both professional and personal activities," Brigadier Ahli remarked. "To address this, Dubai Police remains responsive to these trends to ensure Dubai is among the safest cities worldwide."
This partnership marks a crucial step towards achieving shared objectives by integrating institutional knowledge across multiple sectors, particularly in finance. Both parties are committed to implementing projects that significantly impact security systems while enhancing service efficiency.
