Dubai Unveils 1.2MW Solar Plant Aiming To Generate 1.9 Million kWh Of Clean Energy Annually
Dubai Investment Real Estate (DIR), Al Mujama, Yellow Door Energy (YDE), and Clyde Engineering have inaugurated a 1.2 megawatt-peak solar power system. This initiative aligns with the UAE's Net Zero by 2050 Target and 2050 Clean Energy Strategy.
The solar power system spans nine residential buildings in RITAJ, a premier community in Dubai Investments Park. Over 2,000 solar panels have been installed on the roofs, generating 1.9 million kilowatt-hours of clean electricity annually. This meets 30% of the buildings' energy needs and reduces carbon emissions by 756,000 kilograms per year.

Mohammed Bin Hammad, Senior Director at Dubai Land Department, said: "The Dubai Land Department values the inauguration of a 1.2-megawatt solar power plant by Dubai Investment Real Estate, Al Mujama, Yellow Door Energy, and Clyde Engineering. This project aligns with our strategic vision of promoting innovation in the real estate sector, reflecting the foresight of our wise leadership."
Al Mujama has taken a leading role in this initiative. Obaid Salami, General Manager of Dubai Investment Real Estate, stated: "Al Mujama is honored to play a key role in advancing the UAE's sustainable future with the implementation of the solar power system." He emphasized that this project not only underscores their commitment to sustainability but also provides significant cost savings for residents by reducing energy consumption.
Mansoor Serkal, GM of Al Mujama, highlighted their efforts: "We are striving to ensure all our communities are operated in the most cost-effective and energy-efficient manner to provide best possible value to the owners." He noted that they have already achieved over 18% savings on community energy costs through collaboration with YDE and Clyde Engineering.
Jeremy Crane, Group CEO of Yellow Door Energy, expressed pride in their partnership: "Yellow Door Energy is honored to partner with Dubai Investment Real Estate and Al Mujama on this solar lease." He mentioned that YDE has been awarded 240 megawatts of solar projects internationally and is committed to helping businesses transition to clean energy.
Philip Mills, CEO of Clyde Engineering, congratulated the project's stakeholders: "Clyde Engineering congratulates the forward-thinking management of Dubai investment Real Estate and Al Mujama on the successful completion of the first JOP rooftop solar plant." He highlighted that this project improves RITAJ Community's carbon footprint without any capital expenditure from clients.
The collaboration between DIR, Al Mujama, YDE, and Clyde Engineering integrates technological innovation with environmental stewardship. This sets a precedent for incorporating renewable energy solutions in residential communities across the UAE.
